Perses Stormbringer
winter is coming
When the snows fall and the white winds blow,
the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives

the north remembers

Perses padded through the lands of Whitebark Woods. He was marking borders, his Companion perched on his shoulders. He finished renewing the scent markers before he turned back towards the caves. The beast wasn't quite sure what he was going to do today. Since he finished his duties. Perhaps he could go on a hunting trip? Try to bring back something for the Legion? Or perhaps he could see where Anastasia was. He hoped she wasn't off causing trouble.

The red-eyed Lord wondered where Akeela was. He was worried but hoped that she was alright. Akeela was a full-grown cat, she could take care of herself. But she had been missing for a while so he was starting to wonder where she was.

She hadn't abandoned the Legion, had she? She had built the Legion and he had helped her refine the ideas and stood by her side as a Lord and Oathsworn. She didn't seem like the kind of person to abandon it all.

This was all very strange.

"When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives," the beast said to himself. It was one of the sayings from his mother's pack. They lived in harsh lands, Stormlords of the Stormlands in The North, beyond The Wall of Mountains. They needed to move on; Winter is Coming. And The North Remembers.

DON'T TELL ME I'M OVERREACTING WHEN YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HELL I'VE BEEN THROUGH

Kallisto was slacking. She wasn’t doing her duties as much as she should be. Feeding her children and making sure they were all good and alright was her main priority. Cause now, she was raising them and was worried sick about Akeela. Sure the woman was a full grown tiger but that didn’t mean the woman would disappear without reason. The tigress wouldn’t just abandon her kids, her mate, or her realm. Or so the bear thought. Kalli wasn’t made for leading, in fact, even as co-Queen she still followed after Akeela a lot of the time.

She would mark borders, be their defence, and back up if Akeela ever needed it. Akeela would deal with the politics which was something Kallisto was not the best with. She needed someone else to help her lead, or take over if she ever went to go find Akeela. Of course, here she was chasing after the love of her life. Something she had never seen herself doing before. That was when a scent crossed her nose though, rather close too. It was Perses, a Lord of the Legion. Akeela seemed to trust him, maybe he would help her out here?

The bears pace would pick up as she attempted to catch up to him and either come to pace with him or stop a couple feet from him. ”Perses, we need to talk.”

Perses was pulled out of his thoughts by the Bear Queen's approach. He stopped in his tracks and turned to face her. He dipped his head in respect towards the woman.

Abaddon watched the woman with his usual, carmine-eyed, scrutinizing gaze. He had been quiet but there was something he wanted. Well, wanted for Perses as he was connected to the beast. His life was bound to Perses as he was summoned by the wolf.

"My Queen," the red-eyed Lord said as he dipped his head. She said that they needed to talk. He was apprehensive for a moment. Was this about Akeela? Or was Anastasia getting her apprenticeship? She needed an apprenticeship; she was getting into a lot of trouble. Or was this something else?

"What's wrong? Is there something happening?" the beast asked. He wasn't sure what was happening. It seemed serious.

Was it about her mate? Or their children? He was worried about Akeela and Kallisto would obviously be more worried. And they had two young children, younger than Anastasia. Kallisto had to handle leadership and raising two young children on her own.

Perses had Anastasia and she was a pawfull, but he had Valravn to help him.

The bear didn’t exactly notice the bird right now. Her mind was too preoccupied with other matters right now. Offering a half smile (which was all she could muster) she almost felt dumb struck suddenly. Unsure of what to say to his question all of a sudden, just like the words had poofed. Grew legs and ran away. Kallisto shook her head when he spoke about something happening. ”No, well technically yes. I know that you know Akeela is no longer Queen and you’re the only council member as far as I know.” God how was she gonna tell him this? ”The first issue is that I’m not the best to lead, alone. Akeela and I had the job pretty much split to where it best fit us. Without her I’m kinda lost... She also seemed to trust you quite a bit.”

God, just spit it out already! ”I was wondering if you’d accept co-king. Just until Akeela rolls back around and we know what’s up. I mean mothering and being Queen is difficult.” There, the question was dropped. Why was that so awkward? Oh god she’d have to hold a realm meeting tell everyone that Akeela was no longer Queen and until they found out the true whereabouts of her that Perses was taking co-king. But a jumble they had gotten themselves into.

Kallisto offered Perses a half-smile. While he wouldn't have considered himself close to the she-bear -- he had been closer to Akeela but still respected her mate -- he Investigator told him something was off. And her words starting off didn't give him the impression that everything was okay.

The new Queen said that she wasn't the best to lead alone. He said he would support her, hadn't he? He actually stepped up more when the Queens had their children, accepting new members and other such things. He had been the Tigress's Oathsworn and she did seem to trust him.

The Bear Queen offered the red-eyed Lord the position of co-king, just until Akeela csme back and they figured things out. He had been under the impression that only the mates of leaders could hold the co-leader rank -- he wasn't interested in the she-bear at all. But, he saw the logic in it. And while he also had a daughter that was quite the pawful, he had Valravn to help him while Kallisto had two young children and no present mate.

But, he knew that a lot of the Kingdom -- at least those he had met -- didn't think of him very highly. But he had been Lord for several seasons and had matured quite a bit. He wanted what was best for the Legion and if co-king would help, he would accept.

"I will accept being co-king, Kallisto," the Storm King said, meeting her eye. He dropped the use of "My Queen".

"Should we be considering Apprenticeship for some of our youths? Anastasia is becoming quite the pawful and I think Randavae could use someone teaching him, even though he's older than the usual Apprentice." Since there was undoubtedly going to be a council meeting, they might as well discuss everything so they could get a lot of things done.

Kallisto felt a huge relief when the man accepted the position. Good. Now, she doubted he’d let the position get to his head or anything but if it did happen the bear wouldn’t hesitate to push him out if need be. She noticed he no longer used the phrase My Queen, but it didn’t quite bother her at all. If he was to be co-king, the title wasn’t needed cause now they were of equal power. It was a big weight of her shoulders and it made her feel like she released a deep breathe she never knew she was holding. Now, she could focus more on her children.

The bear nodded her head as Perses spoke about apprenticeships for the youngins and the wolf Randavae- she remembered him but it was a little fuzzy. ”I do agree, apprenticeships would be handy for everyone right now. To my knowledge, the legion is a little bit... short on members. We have nearly as much children in the realm as we do adults. Say we hold a meeting, we could ask anyone to step up willing to take an apprentice. Then, carry on with the rest of the setting apprenticeships and all of that... but before that, we have to tell them that Akeela is on the loose and you have stepped up for now.” It was sort of a lot sure, but now that Perses had stepped up to the plate, she felt more confident. They also needed a few less adults because her children weren’t quite of the age that should be taking apprenticeships right now.

Life doesn't discriminate between the sinners and the saints
It takes and it takes and it takes.
And we keep living anyway
we Rise and we Fall and we Break and we Make our Mistakes.

Perses was still reeling from his sudden ascent through the rank. He had been Lord ever since the Legion's inception and to become King was a whole shock to him. He remembered all the times he had represented The Legion to outsiders as a Lord. Now he would have to do it as a King.

That was the reason he was wanting his daughter to gain an Apprenticeship.

Kallisto brought up the lack of members. They needed to fix that but how? Perhaps calling for Rogues and seeing if any of them wanted to join? Obviously that would have to be outside of Legion territory and they would have to keep a close eye on those newcomers before they were given power. He didn't want to make even more ranks but he was honestly considering a new rank for newcomers.

"I was considering only two mentors for Anastasia and Randavae. Maybe three with Sholi. Perhaps for Randavae, Valravn or Kenya. We need someone patient for him. He distrust magic and called Maata a "demon". For Anastasia, I was considering Iris. Anastasia's been getting into a lot of trouble. Last week I found her at the border confronting the Queen of Vipera and a moon ago or so she found her way to a feline realm all the way across the land bridge. I fear next week she'll be at the Kingdom's borders. For Sholi, I'm not too sure. I don’t think parental figures should mentor their own children." He had a lot of things already considered. An idea hit him and a question.

"When Akeela returns, will she become co-Queen? An Avatar dethroned her and I worry we might anger him." He knew that this was a hard question but they had to be ready for questions at the meeting.

I am the one thing in life i can control
I am inimitable, I am an original
I’m not falling behind or running late
I’m not standing still, I am lying in wait
