Welcome Guest,
Pardon our ads; they're necessary to keep this site running. Thank you for your understanding! Many sites boast a wonderful memberbase, but here at Yavania we pride ourselves on our community. We work hard to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making sure every member and guest is greeted and included in the fun, both OC and IC. Our staff is active, friendly, and almost always available. We are a sandbox roleplay, but we have many sitewide events to spice things up! We have very few limitations when it comes to character creation, and New Members get a huge bonus! We offer a vast spectrum of free-to-play creatures, including but not limited to wolves, lions, hyenas, panda bears, wild dogs, clouded leopards, ball pythons, and eagles! Check out our Overview Guide and Character Creation to see what other species you can play! If the magic system seems overwhelming, don't worry. You do not have to build a character with magic. If you want to, however, we're available to help! Just drop into cbox. ♥

Flight Training

Flight Training

Need to learn to fly but don't have anyone to teach your character in a thread? Though it's much safer to have someone teach them in character, this is another method that can be used!

How does it work?
Step 1) Have your character practice using ascension or shift (whichever power they have) three times in three separate threads. Have them get used to their wings/their winged forms.
Step 2) Post a new thread once Step 1 is complete. Have them summon their wings/shiift into a winged form.
Step 3) Request a roll in Updates (here) and wait for Staff to post your results.
Step 4) Roleplay out the results. See the chart below for more information on how to do this.
Step 5) Repeat until your character has rolled three successes. This does NOT have to be done all in one thread.
Step 6) In order to be able to fly in future threads, you must have rolled three successes total and roleplay out them fumbling through their self-lesson(s).

Can I use Injury Vetoes?
No. Sorry! Injury vetos do not apply to Flight Training.

My character has learned to fly with Ascension or Shift. Does that translate to knowing how to fly with the other power?
No. Learning to fly with one power does not guarantee success learning to fly with the other.

Does weight factor into this?
As ascension's description says, animals over 99 lbs cannot achieve vertical take off. That means that they must run and jump to fly. Not all animals can jump, however. If you have an elephant, rhino, sloth, hippo, opossum, various sea creatures, etc, they will not be able to use ascension to fly.
