Welcome Guest,
Pardon our ads; they're necessary to keep this site running. Thank you for your understanding! Many sites boast a wonderful memberbase, but here at Yavania we pride ourselves on our community. We work hard to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making sure every member and guest is greeted and included in the fun, both OC and IC. Our staff is active, friendly, and almost always available. We are a sandbox roleplay, but we have many sitewide events to spice things up! We have very few limitations when it comes to character creation, and New Members get a huge bonus! We offer a vast spectrum of free-to-play creatures, including but not limited to wolves, lions, hyenas, panda bears, wild dogs, clouded leopards, ball pythons, and eagles! Check out our Overview Guide and Character Creation to see what other species you can play! If the magic system seems overwhelming, don't worry. You do not have to build a character with magic. If you want to, however, we're available to help! Just drop into cbox. ♥

Herb Guide

There are far too many medicinal herbs to list here but below are a few noteworthy ones.

The root of this plant is what's valued. It has been known to ease insomnia, anxiety, depression, digestive complaints, tension headaches and heart palpitations.
White willow bark
This bark is used as a painkiller as well as for reducing fever and inflammation. Unlike other plants and herbs, it can be found and harvested all year long where ever white willow trees grow.
Echinacea is a very popular herb, and can be commonly taken to help combat flu and colds. The herb encourages the immune system and reduces many of the symptoms of colds, flu and some other illnesses, infections, and conditions. It can be found in Divine Fields, Pillar Plains, Saffron Meadow, and the Emerald Flats.
Another versatile flower, Yarrow is used against colds, cramps, fevers, kidney disorders, toothaches, and skin irritations. It can be used externally (mushed up and applied to the skin) to stop blood flow and to treat the wound. Like Echinacea, Yarrow can be found in Divine Fields, Pillar Plains, Saffron Meadow, and the Emerald Flats.
Only the portion of this plant that grows above ground is useful medicinally. It can be used to treat insect bites by applying the plant to the irritated area of the skin. It can also be used for digestive disorders.
Aloe vera
Another multi-use plant, the gel from aloe vera leaves can be used to sooth burns, bug bites, and even reduce risk of infection on small cuts. It can be found in the White Desert, Stone, Valley, and Crow Canyon.
The flower of this plant can be used to calm anxiety, as well as ease upset stomach, heartburn, nausea, and vomiting.
Ginger root
The root of this plant can be used to thin the blood, ease nausea and arthritis. It can also be used, over time, to lower cholesterol.
A lovely smelling plant as well as beautiful, this plant can be used to sooth anxiety and depression by scent alone. It can be found in Divine Fields, Pillar Plains, Saffron Meadow, and the Emerald Flats.
Poppy seed pods
These seeds (of the poppy flower) are found in clusters called pods and are used as a painkillers. It takes quite a few of them to affect larger creatures, and the user must beware of their addictive qualities.

Magical Herbs

Yavania has a few unique, magical herbs. The only way to find these herbs is to forage for them, and they can only be foraged for in Divine Lands. See the Forage Page for more information.

Idun's Apple
Gifted to Yavania by the Nordic Goddess Idun, the mythological golden apple. This is the hardest magical plant to find and for good reason, as it's said to grant those that eat it immortality. Deep within Syuna's Courtyard, a single tree of golden apples can be found. Will you be lucky enough to lay eyes upon it?
A multi colored fruit that seems to simultaneously glint with all the colors of the rainbow. The soft flesh inside is said to heal a single sense for a single IC (in character) day, when eaten. If the creature in question was born blind or deaf, their 'restored' sense may be overwhelming and painful.
Ahine's Blessing
A blue-leafed plant with icy blue fruit. This luminescent plant grants the creature, whom has it with them, avatar attention. If your character finds this fruit and brings it to Avatar Temple as an offering, they have a 75% chance of summoning an Avatar to speak with them.
Dragon's Eye
A thick trucked tree that has intricate, vine-like branches (that grow fruit) and large thorns. Its large, red fruit is wrapped with green leaves. The skin of this fruit is tough, but eating it can heal all first and second degree burns. It can lessen third degree burns, turning them into second degree. In order to work, this fruit must be eaten within 3 IC day of being burned.
The berry of this plant almost resembles a strawberry, except that it is a vibrant orange color with yellow seeds. when eaten, this fruit can heal the following problems: the common cold, the flu, and pneumonia.
The berry of this plant almost resembles a young strawberry, except that it is a bright purple color when the fruit is ripe. Unripe fruit is a pink-purple color. When eaten in time, this fruit can neutralize any poison. In order to work, this fruit must be eaten within an IC day of being poisoned.
The petals of this flower have potent anti-microbial properties and can be used to treat infections in open wounds, granted that they the injury is less than an IC week old. One application of this flower is not enough to heal an infection, however; it will take three applications done within 3 OC weeks (from 1st application to the last) to heal an infection that has already started. These applications must be done in three separate threads.
The leaves of this plant can be used to reduce swelling for deep bruises, sprains, and swelling associated with broken bones when eaten. It does not completely heal any of these injuries, but will reduce the pain to a manageable level. The character should take care, however, not to aggravate the injury just because it doesn't hurt as much.
The vivid, red leaves of this plant can be used to instantly reduce/stop bleeding of an open wound when chewed/mashed up and applied to the damaged tissue. It cannot close a wound or stop the bleeding of a major artery/vein (such as jugular/carotid).
