HOW TO EARN THEM
Fear not! AP is almost always automatically updated as you collect and spend them! Staff will only interfere as necessary, such as if you win a contest, etc. AP can be earned the following ways:
  • +? - participate in the seasonal AP raffle (AP total increases per member that enters)
  • +10 100 - create an account (per account)
  • +8 - win a contest (if applicable, this reward will be mentioned when a contest is posted)
  • +6 - earn bonus AP for IC and OC tasks (see here or more info)
  • +6 - judge a spar (awarded upon posting the judgement)
  • +6 - make a post in an IC forum
  • +6 - make a post in the Events subforum
  • +6 - make a post in the Creativity Corner subforum
  • +6 - post an artwork for another member in the Drop-Off subforum
  • +2 - points received by the author of a thread, when someone replies to it (IC forums only)
  • +2 - vote in a site-wide poll

HOW TO SPEND THEM

When you have enough to buy one of the items listed below, visit the SHOP! Purchasing is just one click away. If you purchase a 'consumable' item, such as elemental level, a breeding upgrade, etc, [the item will read "Send to Staff account when you wish to use."] you must send the item to Staff (the account by that name) with the following form filled out:

Item: What's the name of the item?
Character: Which character is this item being applied to?
Current Elemental Level: If this is an elemental level, what level does your character have in this element?
New Elemental Level: If this is an elemental level, what is their new elemental level with this purchase?

All Jewelry
All Unique Magic
Jewelry can be anything natural, metal, or made of gems. You can buy jewelry for another character or even buy it for a new character before they come into Yavania. Jewelry does not die when a creature does; it can be passed on. There are many unique powers that can be infused into jewelry or bestowed upon the character themselves. See this page for more information regarding them. You can choose to have each power placed upon a separate piece of jewelry or upon one.
Bony Protrusions
Breeding Upgrade
This allows the character to have unnatural bony growths, such as spines, that can grow along their spine or on the backs of their limbs. These spines are rounded and cannot pierce flesh. With each purchase, a character may have up to 2 protrusions. This upgrade is useable once. With this upgrade, your character is guaranteed to successfully have children. Only one of the parents needs to have this upgrade. One dice will be rolled to determine the number of children your character will have. If the number is 1-4, one child will be added to the litter. If the number is 5-6, that will be the number of children your character has. This upgrade does not work for hybrid children. In order to use it, you must have it purchased and validated before the attempted breeding takes place.
Diminutive Trait
Distinct Shape
These traits allow your character to be smaller than is normally allowed on Yavania. Your character may be smaller than is normally allowed by up to 15 pounds and 2 inches. Please note that foxes cannot be smaller than 1.5lbs, this doesn't work on small creatures, and this trait does not apply to flying birds. Your character has an unnatural, distinct shape in their fur, such as a crescent moon, a heart, a teardrop, a star, etc. This is not necessary for spots, zebra stripes, or other natural patterns (even if the patterns aren't natural on your character's species). Please keep in mind that if your character has albinism, the marking must be caused by albinism. Vice versa for melanism. If you wish to get around this, you must buy the Rare Color Pass as well.
Elemental Jewelry
Escape a Spar
Have you already picked both of your elements but you wish you had a third? Look no further! With this buy-able you pick a piece of jewelry (necklace or rings work best) to have infused with an element of your choice. With this jewelry, you get the base power for free. Then, to get the additional levels, you buy them normally (100 AP each level). You still have to train these powers and get a point pool. You can do this with multiple elements. One element per jewelry item. This item can be used once per purchase and can be used inside or outside of the Arena. Inside the Arena, it means you do not have to answer the call and you do not get penalized. Outside of the Arena, it means you automatically escape from the match you are currently in. This means you must use it while the fight in in progress. You may NOT use this to make an escape attempt, as a hostage, automatically successful. To use this escape, you must have it purchased before the spar begins. To use this item outside the Arena, post IC to make an escape attempt and mention in an OC note that you wish to use this item; the escape will be deemed automatically successful. Any character may use this pass to escape a spar, even those with the flaw Headstrong.
Extra Babe Pass
Giant Trait
You may add +1 to the total number of babes rolled in a litter. Predators may not exceed 6 babes; herbivores may not exceed 3. If the babe is a hybrid, you still need to purchase the appropriate hybrid to make this viable. Your character may be larger than is normally allowed by up to 10 pounds and 2 inches. This is not available for small species, nor is it available for flying birds.
Hybrid (Basic)
Hybrid (Upgrade)
If your characters are different species and/or homosexual, you must purchase this hybrid to request a roll for children. This type of hybrid will always be the species of the mother, meaning they will be birthed. If the couple is homosexual, the children's species will be determined with a dice roll if you use this hybrid. If your characters are different species and/or homosexual, you must purchase this hybrid to have children; it is an automatically successful litter. This type of hybrid may be the species of either parent; you choose!
Hybrid (Infertile)
Hybrid (Infertile Upgrade)
If one creatures in a coupling is naturally infertile (due to old age, genetics, etc) but are still intact, they can reproduce with this hybrid. However, there will only be a maximum of 3 children in the litter, decided upon with a dice roll. A roll for success is necessary first. Immortality
Pheromones
If your character has 150 posts, you may opt to buy this upgrade. It grants one character immortality in the sense that they will never die of old age. They can, however, still be killed. The age they are when this purchase is made is the age they immortalized as. Your character always smells faintly of something in particular, such as rotten eggs, lavender, honey, etc — even if there isn't a logical reason for this. The pheromone is chosen upon purchase and does not mask their overall scent. This item isn't necessary for scents that would be natural, such as the scent of pine upon a creature that lives in a pine tree forest.
Poison Glands
Rare Color Pass
This mutation makes non-venomous species able to inject venom with their saliva. This venom is not deadly. Swelling at the site of the bite is immediate. From there, it causes pain at the site of the bite in the first post. In the second post, they will also start to feel nauseous; they may or may not vomit. In the third post, they will sweat and have labored breathing. By the forth post, the symptoms will plateau. By the fifth post, the symptoms will begin to fade. Your character has a unique genetic anomaly that allows them to have both melanism and albinism. This must be used before the character's account is accepted and thus cannot be used on an existing character. You must notify staff that you wish to use upon creation.
Spirit Discount Pass
Venom
Your character has made their mark on Yavania! They may not become a spirit, when they die, with a total of 150 posts instead of the usual 300 required. You must request a rank change and notify staff that you wish to use this upon the death of the character. For every Spirit Discount after the first one you use, you can get 25 posts off of the total required. So with 2 Spirit Discounts, the total posts needed would be 125, and with 3 it would be 100, etc. In order to keep the game fair, we require that you buy venom for your venomous creatures. Only creatures that are naturally venomous can have this upgrade. Once you buy this upgrade, your character has it for life. The potency of the venom depends on the species you play.
