Welcome Guest,
Pardon our ads; they're necessary to keep this lovely site running. Thank you for your understanding! Many sites boast a wonderful memberbase, but here at Yavania we pride ourselves on our community. We work hard to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making sure every member and guest is greeted and included in the fun, both OC and IC. Our staff is active, friendly, and always available. Each season we have a lot of fun OC activities that give our players fun/generous rewards, such as raffles, word searches, and crosswords. IC we have many festivals and site-wide events. Check out our Overview Guide and Character Creation (listed to the right) to see what we offer! You can make a vast spectrum of creatures, including but not limited to wolves, tigers, panda bears, leopards, African wild dogs, clouded leopards, ball pythons, and eagles! If the magic system seems overwhelming, don't worry. You do not have to build a character with magic. If you want to, however, we're available to help! Just drop into cbox. ♥

Quests

What is a Quest?
In Yavania, creatures are summoned by various Avatars to do tasks for Mother Earth. Those familiar with tabletop roleplays, such as Dungeons & Dragons, will be familiar with this type of roleplaying. What makes it different than a regular writing roleplay? Well, these threads have a Dungeon Master/Game Master who controls NPCs (non-playable characters) and your surroundings. You post your character interacting with their surrounds, described by the GM, and the GM will reply with what happens/what your character finds. Your characters will faces puzzles, monsters, and more as they work together to complete their assigned task!

What are the rewards?
For participating your character will get a special Diamond (see the Diamond Rewards page) and, when the task is complete, your character will be rewarded ICly with loot. The loot options are different for each quest, with some quests having unique loot items (such as magical books, pillows, silk blankets, etc). All quests will have jewelry, magical abilities, elemental levels, feats, and more available. When the quest is over, the GM will calculate how many QP (quest points) were earned per character; this is calculated by the character's activity level in the quest. 1 QP = 100 AP. You may ONLY use QPs at the looting phase of a quest; not before or after. QP carries over between quests, and is kept track of by Staff.

QUEST DOs & DON'Ts

Do
  • Post as you need! There is NO posting order in quest threads. Post when you need to in order to advance the quest.
  • Post as MUCH as you need. For the quest, the posting min is 7 sentences INCLUDING dialogue.
  • Have fun!

Do NOT
  • Assume anything about your surroundings. If you want to know what you see/hear/smell, post your character investigating as necessary. The Game Master (GM) will respond as needed to tell you what, if anything, you've found.

INCORRECT

GM: The group could see that a key rested on a nail in the wall, twenty feet up. How do you proceed?

Character A: An idea came to him! They could use a large stick to try to reach up and knock down the key, which was resting on the wall. He started to glance around, searching for a piece of wood larger and long enough. Ah-ha! There! Seeing the stick, he walked over, grabbed it, and brought it back to the group. Once there he used the stick to reach up and knock the key down, dropping the stick and picking up the key.

Character A: An idea came to him! They could use a large stick to try to reach up and knock down the key, which was resting on the wall. He started to glance around, searching for a piece of wood larger and long enough.

GM: Character A looks around...but finds nothing. As he's looking, however, he remembers that his species can jump over twenty feet. How does the group proceed?
