Welcome Guest,
Pardon our ads; they're necessary to keep this site running. Thank you for your understanding! Many sites boast a wonderful memberbase, but here at Yavania we pride ourselves on our community. We work hard to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making sure every member and guest is greeted and included in the fun, both OC and IC. Our staff is active, friendly, and almost always available. We are a sandbox roleplay, but we have many sitewide events to spice things up! We have very few limitations when it comes to character creation, and New Members get a huge bonus! We offer a vast spectrum of free-to-play creatures, including but not limited to wolves, lions, hyenas, panda bears, wild dogs, clouded leopards, ball pythons, and eagles! Check out our Overview Guide and Character Creation to see what other species you can play! If the magic system seems overwhelming, don't worry. You do not have to build a character with magic. If you want to, however, we're available to help! Just drop into cbox. ♥

Sing like no one's there

Sribna Nich

Sribna had been wandering this area for a while now, where was he? He cautiously moved his body forward through the land. He had come from the south, and now ended up somewhere that seemed to have no real features from what he could tell. He chuckled to himself, “Oh dear, I seem to be lost again...” As he spoke a soft echo of his voice came from his right. Was there a cave nearby? Sribna turned his body and headed to the sound of the echo. He hummed to himself loudly to help guide him to the entrance. He walked into the cavern entrance a good twenty feet before stopping. He gave a slight howl and was surprised when he heard the echoes go deep within the cave. So, this must be a large cavern of some sort, it had to go deep in order to make that much of an echo. He cautiously walked another twenty feet in and then sat down. He did not want to get too far into this cavern; he had no clue where it lead to and he did not want to get even more lost than he already was. He gave out another howl smiling as the cave echoed his voice in almost a magical way. This would be a great place to unleash his voice in, the acoustics were amazing.

Being born blind may have had its disadvantages, he bumped into things frequently, he got lost in new places and he has never actually seen what another creature looked like. Sribna did not dwell on the disadvantages though, for he had something he thought was even better than eyes. Sribna was born with a wonderful voice, he enjoyed singing ever since he was little, he would practice day in and day out, fine tuning it into the best he could. He didn’t like to toot his own horn often, but he was proud of his voice, his singing range was very broad, especially for a male. His voice was that of a baritone, though he quite easily sung like a tenor, and was not too bad at singing bass either. The power he could put behind his voice was always expertly executed no matter the pitch he sang in. He had also learned many songs over the years in the three languages he knew. It was the only feature that the leader of his old pack actually liked about him. His voice was the very reason the leader allowed him and his family to stay for as long as they had. He would frequently be told to sing at gatherings as a way to earn his keep; but now that he left the pack, he sung for himself, something he took much pleasure in.

He smiled and thought for a moment about what song to sing. The first one that came to mind was a Ukrainian song called Shchedryk. He opens his maw and begins to sing to the tune of carol of the bells:

“Щедрик щедрик, щедрiвочка,
прилeтiла ластiвочка,

прилeтiла ластiвочка.”

He then repeated the song in english:

“Shchedryk, shchedryk, a shchedrivka;
A little swallow flew
and started to twitter,
to summon the master:

"Come out, come out, O master,
look at the sheep pen,
there the ewes have yeaned
and the lambkins have been born
Your goods are great,
you will have a lot of money.

If not money, then chaff;
you have a dark-eyebrowed wife."
Shchedryk, shchedryk, a shchedrivka,
A little swallow flew.”

Sribna’s powerful voice fluctuated between tenor and baritone as he wished for it to. His voice was crystal clear as he sang, ringing in echoes throughout the large cavern. His voice was drenched was raw and drenched with emotion as he was fully engrossed in his singing, allowing his guard to come down as he believed to be the only one there. His front right paw tapped the rhythm and his body rocked and moved naturally as he sang baring his soul.

"His words.” “His actions.” “His thoughts.” “His magic.”
