Why do you feel they should be balanced?



- Does the range feel too big?
- Do they feel too strong for a spar?
- Does it feel like a character simply cannot dodge it?

Sadist: no
Aphasia: not much
- Do they feel too strong for a spar? it does. It can easily make the other be unable to move cuz of the pain and aphasia is virtually making someone not able to see if removed or lose balance wich will make someone who is being attacked unable to fight back from the starts. A bit unfair I think.
- Does it feel like a character simply cannot dodge it? No one can dodge this unless if they have a branch of unique powers. The rest doesn't have a chance. So I think these powers should be less op.

The same goes for a blind character who is suddenly rendered deaf, but I hear what your saying. Most spars are 3 moves long. To basically be crippled for 2 and recovering by the 3rd can be rough.

a). Suggestion: Basic senses, like sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch, are affected for 2 posts, but complex senses, like balance and pain, are affected for 1 post.

b). Suggestion: All of the sadist powers require your character to have and maintain physical contact with the target in order to take affect, maxing out at 2 posts.

as of right now I’m trying to figure out how to make magic you intrinsically cannot dodge “dodgeable”— maybe psychic magic could emanate out from the character like a radio wave?

What do you mean? Do you mean, like, the character can see it coming? Perhaps there's also a radius that it reaches.

The further away from the user it goes the weaker it is?

Less the former, more the latter.

Like— it would be invisible, but tangible. More than just “happening” like it does right now. Thus the power would fade the further away you were from the user.

I think that would balance it out. It makes it to where the user would have to be closer and it gives the opponent time to put space between them and their attacker.

So maybe there's like... some kind of feeling that is released when they try to activate their powers? Kinda maybe like... maybe skin crawling? Something subtle, but it'd make someone who's observant ????

I feel like that would be contradictory. Most if not all magic cannot be “felt” activating before its activated because the user isn’t drawing magic into themselves and releasing it, but draining a refilling reserve within themselves. Thus the spell suddenly activates like a kettle letting off steam, draining the user’s energy when overused— a character feeling tingling per a spell would be them feeling the magic and therein the spell itself hitting them as it hit them.

With the radius in place, Clarity would be able to function like it should— giving a character a heads up as the spell is being cast.

Said unique power could, possibly, be upgraded to detect magic being used on the user in general?
