"My, my, what pretty teeth you have..."

Missy wasn't fully expecting the tiger to rear back, but he did and she'd have to make due with her current situation. Her chest collided with what would be his stomach and pretty much instantly she felt a pricking discomfort pinch at her skin. She snarled through an open maw, lips wrinkled, at the unpleasant tickling feeling. Hackles raised but her head could not lower in this claustrophobic position. She didn't fear for her nape, seeing as she had a row of teeth protecting it. See? Her lovely necklace could prove to be makeshift armor as well.

Legs spread and bent to help her remain balanced, dull nails pushing into the dirt in case she needed a paw full to spray at the tiger's face. Missy Papa wasn't above playing cheap tricks. Midnight hues narrowed while her ears remained pinned she held her tail upright in dominance and quickly peeled at her mind at what to do.

Well, there was really only one option. Missy attempted to bite at the soft underbelly exposed to her. Not hard enough that she'd rip his stomach out, but enough that it would hurt.

Exposed “Artio” Lebraid

Wrong me once, I'll kill you twice.

The shilpit had made a perilous mistake, and here, they were going to pay.

Whether it be in severity or caveats, it mattered not to the graveyard queen.

What rights did they think they had? To demand information from a monarch, a successor, a face of venturous restitution, was nothing short of a witless and patriarchal incivility. She would not let them leave without understanding how fucking wrong they were. It was unfortunate that the phantom mutilation did not work, but oh, the hellion wasn’t done –– ears pinned and maw deucedly wrinkled, radar and audition radiated in mutuality. Have they not learned by now? Fledglings do not win against regnant gladiators; the fight was surveyed, essence quickly affluent in orchestrating a plan of sinistrorsal, vehement ploys. A gory snarl ravaged from Lebraid’s ajar, fleshly aromatic jaws as she barked, outspread legs therein bending at the knees in concoction. Her tail, of course, was stout with balance. There was a firestorm that burned in those opaque, monochromatic eyes, almost pitless in the void of her own purgatory. So, as she positioned to the tiger’s left, lids pulled taut in an avid wrath. “You’d do well to know your place in this world,” Albeit, it certainly wasn’t here. The queen’s words were gravelly honest -- she’d lunge upwards, monolith canines attempting to bite their lower jaw -- but this wasn’t all. Cognisance of Missy was noted, though unpreventable if a collision comprised from this.

Simultaneously, axon tried to activate atone her bite if it proves triumphant; the affliction of a broken bone would surely make them cower, would it not? She was unable to lower her head, but saylavee –– infernal, grossly tousled hackles stood like bestial soldiers, a facsimile of helheim’s demons.

A moan from oreg’s boughs bellied the earth’s soils, pliability beneath it quite easy. After all, this was her empire, and none would see it plunder.

RE: Lay of the land.

[flames]

The puny dog like thing collided with his stomach - her stench was nearly unbearable. Foul and decaying, forcing himself to swallow the bile that rose in his throat he grinned with faint satisfaction at the fact he knew he made her uncomfortable - even it was for a mere moment.

But to his utter dismay the disgusting creature went for his soft underbelly. To late, he realized his mistake. Sharp pointed teeth nipped at his belly and snarl of frustration escaped him - that was when the decaying witch came at him as well. The pain made him scramble backwards on his hind legs before dropping to all fours the male wouldn't bother with setting a defense as he knew he wouldn't have the time to prepare in that manner head down and mouth open the male would attempt to swat the wolf away from him while simultaneously backing away in an attempt to get away from the snapping jaws - the foulness of the woman's breath cascading over him.

What manner of animals were they? Eyes blazing the male puffed up his chest. He knew when he couldn't fight "You'll pay for this" he spat the words and turning he began to lope away from the two.

Missy

Size Advantage:0
Speed Advantage:0
Magical Advantage:0

Bonus Total:4
Move 1 (8)
-1 Unclear attack: It is not clear where she is aiming at on Pollux’s body for her ‘charge’ and what part of her body she was attempting to have hit him. With her mouth open talking, she was not braced for impact if her head hit him as the force of that could cause her jaw to snap shut and her teeth to risk biting her tongue.
-1 Wrong spar type: Hostage/Maim spars require the attacker to physically try and suppress their target. She was not really ‘attacking’ or ‘suppressing’ him, instead she seemed to mentally be ok with whether or not her move hit. This should have been labeled a ‘dominance’ spar. Or ‘dominance with maim’ at this point. Nowhere does it read hostage, not even in internal thoughts. If you are not going to have your character publicly announce their intentions of hostaging, at least have them internally.

Note: Whilst you were clear about the positioning of Missy’s attack. “Coming from behind the tree, Missy would attempt to charge at the tiger facing him head on from her original position.” Where was her original position? In battle, feet of distance matters. How far away was the tree to which she was originally hiding behind? Whilst usual things do not matter as much in normal threads, during a spar, the distance between creatures does. Especially even more so with a blind individual nearby or in the spar.

Move 2 (8)
-1 Damage lacks clarity: “Her chest collided with what would be his stomach…” If Missy was charging with her head down (from previous post), then I am unsure of how her chest was the first contact point since it should be her head that made the contact. (With the head being the most forward part of the body.) If she changed the position of her head, in order for contact to happen with her chest, it was not mentioned.

-1 attack does not fit spar type: The spar type listed is ‘Hostage with Maim’ however Missy’s attack is as such..”Missy attempted to bite at the soft underbelly exposed to her. Not hard enough that she'd rip his stomach out, but enough that it would hurt.” Maiming spars specifically are only intended to cause serious bodily injury to the other. It seems a little odd that she would only try to hurt him, vs wound him. As for hostage, Missy still has yet to either state her intentions out loud or inner monologue her reasons for said hostaging. It reads more as a dominance spar which can have injury involved.

Note: “Her lovely necklace could prove to be makeshift armor as well.” This is not the case. Her necklace is not considered armor as per the rules. For example, Sauska’s very large necklace is not considered armor either. If Missy believes it, there should be an OC note at the bottom of the post explaining that it is not actually armor and does nothing to protect that area.

Move 1 (8)
-1 ‘And then, a trigger, gaslit from psychosis.’ It says both here in her post and on her profile that Exposed suffers from some kind of untreated mental health issue regarding psychosis. According to the health guide she should be in ‘good health’ and never be able to reach excellent.
-1 Attack is unclear: Expo’s position is not listed. Both in distance to other characters as well as in relation to them. In earlier posts I was able to tell she was face to face, as well as player clarification. However positioning of characters in a spar is very important, especially more-so in multi-character spars.
Note: Due to Missy’s attack being ‘head on’ to Pollux, and Expo not having repositioned herself for a clear shot, Expo hit Missy with rend technically, most likely in the rear region somewhere. Both Missy and Expo began ‘face to face’ with Pollux making this possible. And in Expo’s post it specifically talked about Missy intervening and then Expo using rend. It was not done simultaneously to Missy’s attack.

Move 2 (10)
Note: You have very fancy wording, and sometimes it can make it a little hard to get the nuances. Your wording was explained better off post, but next time make it a bit more clear that Exposed didn’t care if she landed on Missy after her attack. It could have been read that she didn’t care if she had to go ‘through’ Missy to get to him. As if she were an obstacle. Even if you just OC note it. But really that’s nitpicking just for clarity sake for all parties involved in the spar.

Pollux

Health:3
Size Advantage:1
Speed Advantage:0
Magical Advantage:0
Experience:0
Environment:1
Bonus Total:5
Move 1 (6.5)
-.5 for missed defense: opening jaw to protect the throat/be ready to bite,
-2: “the male would attempt to rear upwards in hopes to meet the woman while simultaneously activating static on the woman(Missy) if collided with him.” Pollux must respond to the character's attack in some way, and it must be done before he makes his attack. There was no damage taken from her attack, or even really a response.
-1 attack unclear. Just where on his body is he trying to have her hit? Where is static trying to hit on her body? What part of her body made contact with him.
Notes: Rearing up on hind legs whilst someone is charging will end up with that person charging into Pollux’s stomach region. Which is a very vulnerable area that predators would not expose themselves to if needed. Given he has no prior spar experience, you can chalk this up to him not knowing how to fight, however normally this is not a move that he should have made.
Note 2: When in a spar, an attacking creature is always attempting to make contact with your character. Not confirming whether or not their attack hit can lead to confusion and mistakes. So it is up to you to respond and say if the attack hit, or if you are using your dodge. You should have done that with Missy’s charge, instead you seemed to have left it in the air as a maybe.
Note 3: Normally Pollux should have responded to Expo’s use of rend. However because Missy got in the way, Missy would have ended up being the one to get hit. So in this very special case, Pollux did not get hit by rend. You would have received -2 and your first strike for godmoding, had this not been a special case.

Move 2 (6)
-.5 For not meeting post count.
-2.5 for missing defenses: narrowing eyes, flattening ears, raising hackles for intimidation, tucking or flicking tail OR tail used for balance, claws sheathed or unsheathed (for traction or damage)
-1 attack unclear: In dodging her move, you said he swatted away Exposed. With which front paw? Left or right? On what side of her face did he attempt to hit her.

Note 1: “Sharp pointed teeth nipped at his belly…” I can see that you addressed her attack hitting, however be careful about not ‘downplaying’ attacks from your opponent. Whilst I know it's common to avoid repeating others words to make sure your post doesn’t seem repetitive, in the case of spars, using exact wording can be beneficial. Biting and nipping while technically the same mechanical action, can be read to have different damage pressures. Think of for example: a baby nipping at their dad’s legs vs someone biting their opponent’s ear off.

Note 2: “decaying witch” “the foulness of the woman's breath cascading over him.” Though Pollux may or may not know someone’s name, in spars, clearly stating them can be helpful for determining who is who. You can always put an oc note at the bottom of your post stating that you were clearly labeling who was who for ease of reading and that your character doesn’t actually know their names. It makes it easy to read when your character is going against two or more of the same gender especially. <3

Note 3: “The pain made him scramble backwards on his hind legs before dropping to all fours the male wouldn't bother with setting a defense as he knew he wouldn't have the time to prepare in that manner head down and mouth open the male would attempt to swat the wolf away from him while simultaneously backing away in an attempt to get away from the snapping jaws - the foulness of the woman's breath cascading over him.”

In the case of spars, the more description, the better. Even though Missy’s bite wasn’t enough to gut him, it should have still been enough to cause some scratches. He scrambled backwards on his hind legs, and is now on all fours, but where is Missy’s location now? It is unclear. Theoretically she should be in front of him. It should always be restated in posts where your opponents are, both for clarification, and for understanding’s sake.

Verdict:

STAFF NOTE :

Firstly I wanted to say I am sorry it took me so long to judge this spar. I took a long time to make sure the decisions I was making were good, as well as speak to Amelia, Udo, and Spirited in regards to this spar. So this will be the final judgment as all other judges have been used.

Overall Judgment: Pollux got away.

Whilst the use of an ‘escape a spar pass’ grants you escape under most ic scenarios, in this case there was the potential loss for Pollux due to reaching 2/2 strikes from sparring, hence why it needed to be judged in this manner.

The first potential strike that was brought up was the avoidance of Pollux taking damage from Exposed move on turn 1. This would have been a strike, if not for the unique and unusual scenario. So in this case, there was none.

The second potential strike that was brought up was a misunderstanding between Pollux’s reaction to an attack during turn two between Exposed and Missy. The thought being he reacted to one but not the other, with the thought that Missy’s attack and Exposed’s attacks having happened at the same time. But I have already looked through the spar a few times and have determined that this was not a strike as the two females attacked at different times.

As for the damages taken during this spar that needs to be added/corrected: (Respond to means you have the opportunity to either dodge or get hit)

Missy: Missy should take whatever damage Exposed gave to her during Turn 1. (By accident of course) Aka: Missy having been hit by Rend during T1, we can say (only this time) to keep things Icly somewhat believable we can say that maybe adrenaline made her not realize the injury. She would be hit most likely in the rear region somewhere.

But she should be reacting to it now. Missy should also respond to Exposed’s Turn 2, as Exposed in turn two stated she did not care for Missy’s positioning and she isn't afraid to fall on her during her attack. Avoid or recieve Exposed weight on her. But keep in mind that rend had hit her.

Exposed: After Missy’s post, please respond to Pollux’s attempt to whack her face. Due to her approaching from the left, I will make the assumption that Pollux attempted to use his right front paw to ‘smack’ her away on Exposed’s left side of her face. The force of the smack was not given, but given he was able to get away (using dodge) I would assume the attempt of attack would be enough to divert her away from course. Since this is a hostile fight, I would also assume his claws are out.

Pollux: Missy’s teeth should have left some scratches on his underbelly from biting him at least. So though she didn’t gut him, he should have some wounds there.

Feel free to message me if there are any questions at all! <3

"My, my, what pretty teeth you have..."

The fool managed to get away and Missy only narrowly avoided the weight of Exposed. Not that the wolf would crush her -- Missy was more heavyset than the queen, but she didn't really want to risk the collision damage. "Run away coward!" She screamed, the rest of her insults died in her throat. Her voice sounded...so far away. Like it was muffled and off.

Missy soon felt the blood dribble down the right side of her face. The adrenaline wore off and no matter how well the hyena's pain tolerance was it didn't prepare her for this gruesome burn. Her right ear had been severed off from Exposed's usage of rend, the power tearing at the side of her face in the process. The herbalist stood in shock as the puddling blood. The amount wasn't enough that she'd bleed out, but she needed to get to her supplies quickly to stop the flow of blood from escaping. The only problem was that she was feeling dizzy from it all. Her mind was fogging over and a small panic threatened to rip through her chest.

"I need," Missy paused to regain her footing. Her nerves were on fire and it took every ounce of her being to not start screaming in pain. Tears threatened to spill and her voice wobbled and shook with each syllable. "Help me get to my den, please. I have..um, I," Another breath and another. "There's yarrow in my den to help stop bleeding. I need it. Now." Again, her voice sounded so far away. Her head was pounding and she just wanted to curl up and hide.

Still, she didn't wish to look weak in front of her friend. So be began the uneasy trek to her den under twisted roots.

Exposed “Artio” Lebraid

Wrong me once, I'll kill you twice.

A headache pontooned from the threadbare of radar and audition, drumming aches viciously pummelling the woman’s temples as if it were a war mallet.

Dark, chasmic growls tore from the back of her throat, uncanny and absolutely grotesque -- it, however, became gargled by a renegade whack. And in that moment, the witless boy’s assays broke him free. The malodour of blood befouled Lebraid’s matted complexion, its chambre emissions a testimony to see them dead. Oh, so that’s how he wanted to play this?

He fucking dare?

Those overlong canines leeched with ropy, ravenous saliva, monochromatic eyes pulling tautly into a callous glare. It was boreal, unnerving, a sign of true psychosis. But then, it was Missy’s harrow that diverted the graveyard hellion’s attention away from the craven shilpit; distress and behest, a cry for help. Now, while the queen did not like to be ordered around by anyone, this felt queerly disparate. She wouldn’t let her loyalist expire under happenings that could not be avoided –– or, so she thought –– an intrinsic reason had yet to be recognised. Emotions, of course, were sternly null and void. Albeit, she’d attempt to aid them upright, “You did well, Missy. From here on, you will be known as Havok’s Duchess for your undying loyalty and service to my rule.” It was fitting, was it not? Gallantry cloaked her demeanour like a set of ferric armour, reputable and inviolable as always.
