Ranks and Tasks


Ranks & Tasks


A rank is an official, universal title on Yavania. The default duties of each rank are editable/customizable by the leaders, if it is written down in your realm's rules. You can also abolish a rank entirely, if your group won't be using it. Tasks, on the other hand, are unofficial duties handed out by the King/Queen and can be unique to your realm, but they are not recognized ranks. Things such as "wizard" or "babysitter" are such tasks. However, none of these ranks or uniquely created ones apply to factions.


THE ROYALTY
King/Queen

Top tier of the realm, these creatures are the rulers. They decide who gets what rank, can mark the borders, accept/invite members, claim children, make/trade slaves, make/break alliances, steal children/slaves, and decide on the rules for the realm. There are only two of these positions available, which are not affected by gender. A character must be at least 2 years old to hold this rank. If there are two who hold this rank, one will be the true leader and one will be the co-leader; the true leader is responsible for leader logs and has final say on matters for the realm.

Heirs

Second only to the King/Queen, this rank is usually held by the distinguished children of the King/Queen but can be held by others who are worthy. All ages may occupy this position, but there are only two heirs allowed at a time. The tasks of this rank are decided by the realm's King/Queen. They are first in line to inherit the throne.

THE COUNCIL
Duke/Duchess

The King/Queen's right hand, creatures of this rank can accept/invite creatures, claim children, guard the borders, protect citizens, steal children/slaves, teach children, and enforce the King/Queen's' will. In the absence of heirs, these creatures inherit the leadership position if necessary. A character must be at least 2 years old to hold this rank, and there are only two of these positions available. A duke is the male version of this rank; a duchess is the female.

Baron/Baroness

The left hand of the King/Queen, creatures of this rank can accept/invite creatures, claim children, guard the borders, protect citizens, steal children/slaves, teach children, and enforce the King/Queen's' will. A character must be at least 2 years old to hold this rank, and there are only two of these positions available. A baron is the male version of this rank; a baroness is the female.

THE WORKERS
Knight

The teeth and claws of the realm, these creatures and residents who have proven themselves capable of protecting the Empire. They are warriors, fighters, sentries. They guard the borders, intercept trespassers, and protect those within the realm. A character must be at least one year old to have this rank, and there are an unlimited amount per realm.

Healer

The heart of the realm, these creatures are residents who have chosen the path of healing, medicinal or magical. They treat the injured and heal the sick. A character must be at least one year old to have this rank, and there are an unlimited amount per realm.

Hunter

The belly of the realm, these creatures are residents who have chosen the path of hunter. They're skilled at tracking and hunting, whether they be good at stealthy or good at brute force tactics. These wolves help feed the entire realm and are very important to the stability of the realm. A character must be at least one year old to have this rank, and there are an unlimited amount per realm.

Open

Each realm is allowed to make their own worker ranks, in addition to those available above (knight, healer, hunter). Make sure to define them on your realm information page before handing them out! You should specify what their tasks are for the realm as well as their official rank title. Examples could include scout, lifeguard, researcher, entertainer, etc.

THE MEMBERS
Resident

The body of the realm, these characters are the ordinary citizens. Characters of all ages have this rank, and there are an unlimited amount per realm.

Slave

The bottom of the hierarchy, these creatures are not free to leave the realm's ranks and are likely expected to obey everyone who is above them. There are an unlimited number available to each realm.
