Welcome Guest,
Pardon our ads; they're necessary to keep this site running. Thank you for your understanding! Many sites boast a wonderful memberbase, but here at Yavania we pride ourselves on our community. We work hard to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making sure every member and guest is greeted and included in the fun, both OC and IC. Our staff is active, friendly, and almost always available. We are a sandbox roleplay, but we have many sitewide events to spice things up! We have very few limitations when it comes to character creation, and New Members get a huge bonus! We offer a vast spectrum of free-to-play creatures, including but not limited to wolves, lions, hyenas, panda bears, wild dogs, clouded leopards, ball pythons, and eagles! Check out our Overview Guide and Character Creation to see what other species you can play! If the magic system seems overwhelming, don't worry. You do not have to build a character with magic. If you want to, however, we're available to help! Just drop into cbox. ♥

RE: The Verja [Realm Information]

ABOUT THE REALM

Unique Worker Ranks

Librarian - These creatures are in charge of tending to the library and teaching other realm residents how to properly use its books.

Scholar - Though they share knowledge with the librarians, these members are charged with knowing the history of the Kingdom and its creatures and sharing it with their fellow residents.

Cook - Unlike the hunters who help catch prey and keep the kitchen stocked, the cook is in charge of preparing meals and ensuring there is always food ready for safe consumption. Meats, veggies, and sweets. Whatever they desire to try to make, they can try to do so with the special stone brick oven.

Consort - Members whose primary task is to appease the needs (emotional/physical/intellectual) of a leader or council member. A particular consort may belong to a specific ruling member. They have the right to invite members/claim children and act with the authority of the council member they represent (in that council member's absence).

Fang - The elite task force of the realm; they do as their commander, Anjay, bids. Whether it be assassinations, spying, or guarding. They are the most loyal members of the kingdom.

Nanny - The baby sitters of the realm, these residents have shown themselves to be trustworthy enough to look after the youth of the Kingdom. This includes making sure they don't wander off, that they are well fed, and that they were generally happy.

Instructor - These valued members of the realm are responsible for teaching others, especially children. While an instructor may specialize in specific topics, they're expected to continue to expand their knowledge so that they can better serve the kingdom.

LAWS

(01) All creatures, no matter their rank, should be respected. Mind your manners.

(02) You are a representative of your Kingdom; do not start fights with other realms unfounded.

(03) Formal titles (Lady, Sir, Knight, Healer, Queen, etc) should be used unless you and the creature you're addressing decide otherwise.

(04) Criminals will not be tolerated in the Verja: if you commit a crime, in the Realm or outside of it, you will be held accountable. The leaders will decide your punishment.

(05) Everyone may invite creatures to the Realm, but only those ranked Baron and above may accept them. This includes Heirs.

(06) Everyone is expected to do their part: if you have a rank and want to keep it, perform your duties. If you seek a rank, speak to the leaders or duke/duchess.

(07) Trespassers may be met with hostility. Depending on what they are doing, they may be killed. If they wish to join, force them out to the borders and call your council, if need be.

(08) Parents have rights upon distributing punishment on an individual that has wronged their child, on top of what the council deems necessary. The punishment that the parent gives out, however, must be for what that crime has entitled. The parent still must inform the leaders before acting.

(09) People under the age of two are not to be in any sort of questionable relationship. If found out, the punishment will fit the perceived crime.

(10) Babes under the age of two years are unable to leave the lands of the Kingdom without the direct supervision of an adult. This is for their protection.

RE: The Verja [Realm Information]

Cherry Blossom Grove

Cherry Tree Forest

The namesake of the territory, most of the land is covered by these beautiful trees. When they blossom, the air is sweet with their smell and the ground is littered with soft petals.

Vineyard

Located in the middle of the realm is a decent-sized vineyard of grapes. The royal family knows how to make these grapes into delicious wine, thanks to their culture. Close-by is a very large den that has been made into a 'cellar' to hold fermenting wine and finished wine in bowls made from magic and coconut husks.

Orchard

Though fruit and nut trees are scattered throughout the lands, a larger concentration of them exist on the northern border of the land. Apple trees are the most common and litter the ground in spring and summer, giving the residents access to a tasty treat.

Northeast Border

Another border area, this is where the Grove meets the Moor. This terrain is more waterlogged than the rest of the territory.

River Border

Cherry Blossom Grove is surrounded by a small river that wraps around its north and west side. Though not particularly deep, it is wide and the current is nothing to test lightly. It is a good source of fish and fresh water, as it meets the ocean to the south.

LANDMARKS

CHERRY BLOSSOM GROVE

The Verja have had a claim over their lands for quite some time, but none longer than cherry Blossom Grove! Here are some ways in which they've shaped the land!
  • A Redwood sapling now grows near the center of the Grove, where an open terrain used to be. Frigga Fritjov grew the redwood with her plant magic on Anjay's request. This is the tree that shelters the birdhouse of Anjay Tsoo (Duke of the Verja) and his mate, Oliza.
  • To the northeast of the redwood sapling is the entrance to the underground Cellar for the Verja. This storage area is decorated with furs and the walls are dug out to make shelves where wooden bowls are stored. Some are filled with precious herbs and others are empty, waiting to be filled with precious wine, which is stored here as well.
  • Just below the Cellar is an underground Kitchen, created by Anjay with his magic. It has a brick stone stove and a freezer with hooks to hang carcasses.
  • To the far east, a stone bridge makes it easier for the young and old to cross the river to get into the Spiral Rainforest. There is also one to the north and another pair of them to aid the crossing into Marrok Falls.
  • Scattered throughout the land, marked by brown ovals, are small gardens started by Frigga. This is where she grows her aloe and other necessary healing herbs.
  • Karama's & Kimagure's & Sive's 3 story house. Located near the garden closest to the Rianforest. It has a 10x20x10 basement with a long ramp down that has raised notches along it for traction. The first floor is 40x40x10 feet tall and subdivided into rooms -- one for Kimagure, one for Karama, and an open foyer in front of the door. The second floor is 10x10x10 with a spiral ramp that has thick railings that lead up to it. The walls of this floor are all framed in a blue tinted glass, the color of his Anjay's eyes as a sort of signature. Embedded within the glass was reinforcing metal bars. More accurately, the bars were first then the glass formed around them. Anjay left several very small holes throughout the structure for ventilation as well as hearing outside. The outside of the structure is decorated in various metal filigree. The design is representative of a forest of trees.

PALM PENINSULA

  • In the Peninsula, many houses exist. Each member is allowed to claim one, even new members. The branch to the northeast, however, belongs to the royal family. They come in 1 of 4 designs: design 1, design 2, design 3, design 4
  • In the center of the Royal District is Fritjov Manor, as seen here. It is where King Rangvald lives with Castiel and their pups.
  • There is a Library (marked by the golden building on the map) where Anjay has stored the books that Verja members have won. The books are below and anyone may interact with them, as they are bound by their covers on electerns each. There are only 3 electerns, as Anjay has bound together the herb books into one encyclopedia and has bound the magic books into another.
  • A medic hunt lies to the north of the Library, where creatures can show if they need medical attention. If a healer is not inside, call for them.
  • Lanterns ring the Royal District, made by Frigga Fritjov's light magic.

SAFFRON MEADOW

  • Ringing the land are green Lanterns, created by an eagle named Raphael Revere. Interestingly, they are relics from a previous realm that called the Meadow home.
  • A four-foot wide bridge with 18in railings spans the river between the meadow and the grove. There is a long, oval-shaped hole at the bottom that allows water to pass under the bridge.
  • A 40ft by 40ft stone building with two entrance on either side stands near the trees on the southern border. It was built by Kimagure Stagner, a blind lioness who once ruled one of the kingdom's realm.

BOOKS

1. An encyclopedia of herbs. A collection of four wood-covered books that detail all plants that have medicinal use in Yavania as well as which can be poisonous. Each page provides a large detailed image of a plant. Touching the image will prompt the book to verbally recite the name of the plant, its uses, and where it can be found/the climate it grows in. Please be aware that to gain IC knowledge from this tomb, you have to post interacting with it for each thing you wish to learn.

2. An encyclopedia of magic. A collection of three wood-covered books that detail the magic of Yavania, including the 13 elements and the non-elemental powers. Each page provides a depiction of a creature using the power in question. Touching the image will prompt the book to give the reader the name of the power, its element (if any), and its limitations. This book will update as new magic becomes available. Please be aware that to gain IC knowledge from this tomb, you have to post interacting with it for each thing you wish to learn.

3. A language primer. This book reads the words written on it to the reader in an effort to teach them the language (oral and written). It contains any and all languages. Please be aware that to gain IC knowledge from this tomb, you have to post interacting with it for each thing you wish to learn. To claim to have learned a language (reading and/or writing it), you must post learning the same language 5 times and then buy the linguist feat per language you wish to learn.

RE: The Verja [Realm Information]

(This post was last modified: 01-13-2019, 10:53 PM by Stark. Edited 4 times in total.)
FRITJOV

Raised in Asgard at the knee of Odin himself (along with his beautiful wife, Frigg), Loki Fritjov was unsatisfied to find he'd been adopted from a lesser civilization. That his family was not his true family. Disgusted with them and himself, he left Asgard to forge his own path in the world, and forge he did. After a brief stop in a land pillaged by cruel would-be-Gods, he moved onto another where he set up a large and prosperous Empire called Tamarix. With his beloved warrior wife, Rai Dame, he had many children and ruled until the end.

DAME

Rai Dame was granted the position of the Matriarch of the Dames by her father, Roach Dame, before she set out on her own. Years later, she granted the title of Patriarch to her son, Stark Dame, who founded the Verja with his (adopted) littermate, Frigga Dame-Fritjov.

FAMILY TREE

Frigga & Stark were raised with two fathers, Armani Sturgess and Loki Fritjov (most active father), and their mother Rai Dame. As such, Armani's daughter Regalia (born from Syfka Valentine-Dame, Rai's half sister) is treated as a sister and a cousin by Frigga and Stark.

Vali, Jarvis, Paxinos, and Vioxes are Rai Dame x Loki Fritjov's 'second' litter. These four were actually born from Rai's half-sister (Sage Valentine-Dame) but were raised by Rai. Loki is their true father. None of the siblings but Stark know this.

Linnea, Lífa, Fenja, Kàra, and Irpa are Rai Dame x Loki Fritjov's third litter.
