[TS] Strangers In The Rain

Circe felt she had chosen a strange time to travel. The skies were howling and rain was certainly promised on the horizon. Thunder rolled across the tundra, the short wild flowers and grasses that ran across the flatland being pushed and pulled with the wind. Her golden dappled form moved through this new land, her first time upon this new earth. Her old home had been forgotten in favor of something with more interest. Nothing had soured her opinions so far which made for a pleasant, almost jovial mood. She was no fan of rain, but the weather was as predictable as a prey animal in the thrill of the hunt. As such, there was no reason to become sour or angry at such predicaments.

No, she was simply traveling, searching for something new to entertain her senses. It was much colder here than of her homeland, the chill here somehow prevailing over summers warmth. It was far different from the rolling oceans and sandy beaches of her home. It was a place where the sun always shone high above the clouds and rain was few and far in between. This, this was far different.

The grass here was short and coarse. The wild flowers bright and small, scattered across the flatland that was turned to a muddy mess. She figured the land would have been lovely had the rain vanished from the horizon. The chill of winter still lingered, even as summer was supposed to be in high season. It was fascinating, truly strange and interesting.

The animals here were different as well, they looked large and heavy furred. They held large antlers and stomped about, almost as if they were a form of large deer. She let them be, not wanting to try and get injured so quickly into her journey. Instead she focused upon the lake she had found, it branching off into a river that disappeared into a rather impressive mountain range a long ways off.

There were a few birds mulling about there, in the water and around the banks. She decided this were a good a place as any and laid down to rest. Her dual colored eyes scanning the horizon for anything else of interest. The scent of bear was on the horizon, something she wasn't looking forward to meeting. Other than that, everything appeared peaceful. That was until a small drizzle of rain began to pour from the heavens.

'Ω κατάρα' She thought to herself. Just when she thought she could rest for a bit and move away from such weather. She was not a fan of being soaked, but now it seemed as though it would be inevitable. A sigh would escape her lips and she would remain resting upon the earth, knowing she would be covered in mud by the end of the day. A little rain hadn't killed her before, she doubted it would now.

@Iris

OC: When referring to the large, deer-like animals she is talking about caribou. She comes from an area that would be similar to modern day Greece and they don't have caribou there unfortunately, but they do have bears.

Translation: Ω κατάρα = Oh curses

RE: [TS] Strangers In The Rain

Iris Rain-Drop

The sky seemed dangerous and the threat of heavy rain seemed clear for a chocolate wolf. Golden eyes locked onto the dark heavens, wondering when would start to rain, she didn't mind getting wet but still she didn't want to catch a cold. That was not a thing she would enjoy, so the need for finding shelter became the priority for the female who slowly padded across this new place. In fact, this was the very first time, the wolf visited such tundra, from where she was standing seemed desolated, lonely. And she wondered if anything lived here. Well, some wildflowers were there but a very few.

Dark limps would find a stop as she reached a mound on the ground. From there, her eyes noticed a lake that lied not too far from her spot. It was pretty big, and she thought about maybe drinking from it a bit. It somehow remembered her of her homeland. A thick forest with a huge lake. Her black lips would arch into a smile with those far memories. Memories that didn't hurt anymore, unlike how they did when she was a child.

The memories of her family and their death were still on her consciousness, but she didn't cry anymore. It didn't mean she didn't care about them anymore, she did but never letting the sadness reach her soul. She missed them, but she smiled for them.

But returning to the present, as she walked she felt how some drops started to land on her coffee-colored fur. As a response, she would look up to the sky. And the rain started to gain some strength, hitting the ground loudly. Iris then resumed her walking, feeling how the mud started to cover her paws. It may be disgusting for others, but for her it was normal. Mud didn't kill people, right? So why should she care? And as she walked further, she saw a herd of Caribou. An animal she hasn't seen in a while. But for now, she wasn't going to do anything to them. Apart from not being hungry, it would be dumb to attack them on her own. So as of now, the water was her only goal for today. So as she reached the lake she started to drink.

As she did, she didn't notice the other wolf. Her focus was on satisfying her thirst.

RE: [TS] Strangers In The Rain

Sure enough the rain had drenched her within a few minutes, the water turning the land into a hazy wonder. The rain became a light mist, clouding the area in a beautiful plume of white fog. It looked ethereal, with the shape of those large creatures moving through the distance. She could spot the occasional goose making its way into the water or sky, honking as it went. A smile graced her lips, happily taking in the air around her. Regular rain was dreary and unpleasant to be caught in, but this was just the right amount of moisture and excitement.

It was then that she noticed a darker figure moving through the collecting mist. Her eyes followed it, trying to discern what it was. It looked to be a canine, a wolf like herself. It was coffee brown and looked to have taken residence by the lake. It didn't appear threatening, and from what she could tell it was alone. Would she gamble an interaction today? Maybe so, she wasn't exactly going up against anything larger than herself. She knew how wolves worked and had the element of surprise, so yes, she was going to chance it today.

She stood and gave her coat a rather heavy shake, ridding it of most the mud that had settled there. κατάρα, that was going to be a pain to get out, no matter, she had more important things to tend to. Circe made her way closer to the new wolf, her eyes set on figuring out just whom she had run into. Perhaps they had a pack she could join up with? Or would she have to start her own? She wasn't sure, but it would hopefully be a pleasant interaction.

"Greetings φίλος." Her voice came out accented and melodic, a soothing sound over the backdrop of rain. She wouldn't get to close, despite the friendly greeting. She was about five paces or so away from the darker wolf and wasn't planning on getting any closer until she got a grip on its personality.

"Rather interesting weather isn't it, αγαπητός." Her expression would turn inquisitive. While she was keeping the conversation light and impersonal, she was trying to get a read on what this wolf would be like. Would they be harsh and crass? Or perhaps a smooth talker? She wasn't sure, but she didn't like not knowing, the unknown put the stakes to high for someone like her. There was only one good thing about the unknown, and that was that it could become known by anyone wanting to uncover it.

That was exactly why she was putting such a petty conversation fourth. It wasn't meaningful and she couldn't very well make to much of an attachment to someone she didn't know anything about. There was little to gamble here, and the stakes were easy enough to manage. Now all she could do was wait and see how the odds rolled.

RE: [TS] Strangers In The Rain

Iris Rain-Drop

Iris kept with her main task, as her pinky tongue kept slippering in and out from the essential liquid under her doing her best to retain as much water as possible. As she did the drops started to pound on her back and head strongly, getting her chocolate hue soaked. Luckily her double coat kept her skin warm but she knew it wouldn't be the case for much time.

But as she felt her thirst slowly fading away, she would raise her head to have a better look of the place which for her seemed beautiful and untouched. She wanted to know if this place had a name or if anyone apart from the caribou called this land home. She loved to hang out with new faces, with potential new friends. And if there was anyone in the need of help, she would do the best she can. Even if they are strangers or friend.

But as time passed, she noticed a thick fog invading the place, making it hard to see beyond her own nouse. Her ears pinned in confusion and some dashes of fear didn't take long before collecting on Iris's heart. But in such weird weather, a voice broke through the former silence. "Greetings φίλος." Her left eyebrow arched in confuse as she didn't know what the last word meant, and when she turned her head a lighter wolf was there. "Hello?" She greeted as her fear slowly was replaced by curiosity. "Rather interesting weather isn't it, αγαπητός."

Once again she barely understood the last word. "It is! I wonder how is that possible." She said in a more friendly tone. "I had never been in this place. And you?" She asked smiling at the other wolf.

RE: [TS] Strangers In The Rain

She now knew this to be a darker, coffee colored woman of stature similar to herself. She was rather bubbly, excitable and seemingly beaming with a sweet innocence, like that of a fresh flower in morning dew. It was nice, admittedly, better than running across a crass creature with no regard to life. Her gamble had payed off, this time turning out in her favor. This woman was rather pleasant company and she didn't seem to want to cause her any harm.

Although she was a rather curious creature, that much was certain. It was a charming demeanor at least, not annoying but rather sweet. A bubbling warmth burrowed itself within her chest, staving off the chill of the drizzle and mist that coated the air. Perhaps this woman and herself could become rather nice acquaintances? She decided to gamble it, the odds were favorable after all.

"I cannot say I have seen καιρός like this myself." She offered a warm smile, eyes shimmering with a soft, almost timid kindness. "This land is new to myself as well γλυκό."

The name was one of endearment, more of an observation than personal attachment. It mimicked the idea of the woman that Circe had developed within her mind. The woman's behavior still reminding her of the sweet honeysuckle flower that bloomed in the lush brush by the river of home. She wasn't wanting to divulge much of that information to the woman of course, that was a no-go, she was not willing to allow herself to be hurt by something as simple as giving to much information at once.

"What might your name be γλυκό." Her head would tilt, deciding that she liked the new nickname she had given this woman of coffee and gold. She would not offer her own, more curious about the woman before her rather than going into trivial details about herself. Small talk was never her strong point, but she would be willing to try it with this woman. She was the first creature of sentience Circe had come across her journey so far, a little socialization was needed after such a long break in silent loneliness.

Translation: καιρός = Weather
γλυκό = Sweet One
